Stamps are a fun way to express both likes and dislikes - the things that interest you and the things that annoy the shit out of you. This stamp is an example of the latter.

It seems like 9 out of every 10 original characters have names that are of obviously Japanese origin. This would be fine if these characters were, in fact, Japanese...but how the hell do you explain someone's elfish OC having the name, for example, "Yumiko Tanaka" when said creatures are normally supposed to come from a totally different land/world/universe? Unless there are plenty of elves walking around Japan that I just don't know about.

Know that I have nothing against the Japanese people, culture, or language...but for Evil's sake, have some variety, people. There are plenty of other cultures with exotic-sounding names to steal from.

And for anyone who DOES have OCs with Japanese names, please don't take this as a personal attack and type out a novel about why YOUR character's name makes sense, I could really care less (meaning the only response you'll get from me is "tl;dr"). If you disagree, move on and find a stamp you DO like.

weither or not my ocs have japanese (or japanese sounding) names depends on where the story takes place. :P

I have one OC who named Hakuo because he is based on kitsune but I like culture of other countries.

My graphic novel (still in the works) takes place in feudal Japan, so they have Japaneses names. (no shit)
Those characters are my only characters with Japanese names. A few names of characters would be; Ebi, Molordo, Elisia, Isa, Tresa, Neltor, Menteric, Centric, Shyla, Rose, Robert, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Elizabeth, Eve, Red...and so many more. XD

Your oc's shouldn't have Japanese names unless they're japanese! they're so desparate they name a male "Miku", a female name (like hatsune miku)

I have many OCs, but most of mine have non-Japanese names.
I usually find names of whatever Nationality I make them.

My Ocs with Japanese names are Japanese. But for one of them he is American but got amnesia and forgot his true name. So his Japanese packmate renamed him.
